The Right Process of Stump Grinding and Tree Removal
It is important to be aware of safety during operation of stump grinders. Lesions caused by the use of stumps can include fractures, limb loss, or even death. Before heading out into the field, make sure your crew knows the correct safety procedures. Rather it is better to call tree removal professionals for help.
Prepare the Area
It is also important to assess the effect on which you remove the stump before you even get to work with the stump grinder. Make sure the stump is removed from the estate.
Remove from the stump big rocks or other objects
Look for buried items such as metal, chain or fencing that could present danger.
Interviews the owner and asks questions about underground obstacles such as utilities, sprinkler lines, gas pipes, property markers, etc.
Once the debris and buried items have been checked, place the stump cutter, ensure a stable machine and the operator must get a proper base and a clear path to exit the working area. Place the machine underneath the stump area when working on stump removal. Operators should, however, avoid working on steep paths. No task is such that an operator needs risk damage or machine damage to remove a stump.
Safety Features
Today's stump grinders are equipped with many tools with many safety features. These include safety curtains to prevent flying debris and to protect the cutter wheel and other moving parts. Some have emergency shutdowns and/or operator presence devices. They are also available. To protect one, the most important thing an operator can do is:
Use PPE to prevent flying scrap and hearing
Always ensure that the cutter wheel is turned off
Make sure there is a good basis in operation to avoid falling under or into the machine
Trained Crew
Make sure that operators are aware of the machine and learned how to operate it properly. Trained operators are concerned with the general fundamental principles of stump and tree removal and with the specific operation of the stump cutter. Any stump cutter operator should read the operator's manual and understand it before the machine is operated.
1. Electricity – The property could be situated either via overhead power lines or a junction box. If the potential power cable is nearby, the exact location of the power cable will be determined. Because the risk is high. Customers are advised to dig a trench to the wire on either side of the stump to check the depth of the line. We can perform a grind on the surface if this is not an option.
2. Waterline – water services usually enter the building from the front. When there is a stump on the front of the house, we need to ensure that there is no water piping going directly below the stump. We request a perpendicular trench to determine the under floor service's depth. Another option is to make a surface grind over the stump where we suspect services could be located below.
